Last March, 26-year-old Hailey Bieber was hospitalised with a suspected microstroke. Thankfully, it ended without consequences for the model’s physical health, but not her mental health. On The Run-Through With Vogue podcast, Hailey admitted she had a long recovery from her experience.
“I struggled with a lot of anxiety and a bit of post-traumatic stress disorder because of the fear of it happening again. It was a feeling I never want to experience again. So scary, so uncomfortable, it was confusing in every way you can imagine,” Hailey admitted.
She added that she was grateful for the people who helped her cope with the illness.
“I’m just so grateful for the wonderful doctors, nurses and people who helped me make sense of what really happened.”
By the way, this is not the first time a model has revisited the worst day of her life. She previously spoke candidly about it in a 12-minute video posted on her YouTube channel, where she suggested that the ailment may have been triggered by birth control pills.
“So, ladies, if you suffer from severe migraines and are planning to take birth control pills, make sure you tell your doctor because stroke is a potential side effect of these medications,” Hailey warned.
