On 20 April, Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived for a visit to the UK’s second largest city, Birmingham. There they met with representatives from the arts and creative industries, and visited the authentic family-run Indian Streatery restaurant in the city centre, where they took part in making roti flatbread with the staff. In new photos from the event, the monarch couple look enthusiastic and happy and smile broadly in literally every picture.
The Indian Streatery restaurant is run by the Sharma family led by the chef and mother of the family, Meena. What began as a street food joint has evolved into a completely different experience, offering everything from authentic Indian cuisine to British-Asian fusion dishes. Notably, Indian Streatery’s team of chefs is made up exclusively of women. After diving into the world of Indian cooking, the Welsh also met with former students of University College Birmingham.
For the new outing, Kate chose yet another memorable look. She stepped out in public in a burgundy pleated belted Karen Millen dress and matching suede ankle boots by her favourite shoe brand, Gianvito Rossi. She accessorised the look with ethnic earrings by Sezane and a gold necklace by Daniella Draper.
