Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet, colleagues in the blockbuster film Dune, reunited at CinemaCon 2023, held in Las Vegas last Tuesday, April 25. Together with the film’s director Denis Villeneuve, they talked more about their on-screen characters, the plot of the second part and the specifics of the production process, as well as unveiling the film’s first trailer. Both Timothée and Zendaya chose similar outfits and showed how differently you can wear this season’s trendy waistcoat. By the way, Zendaya was dressed head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton, which she became an ambassador for just a few days ago. And the actress chose Bulgari jewellery as accessories.
“The first part is more of a contemplative film. The second part is a sharp and epic war film. It’s much more intense. We’ve been to a lot of new locations. All the sets are new,” Villeneuve said.
Timothée also promised that in the new part of his hero Paul Atreidesa waiting grand personal transformation.
“In the first film, Paul is an apprentice. And now we really see him become a leader… In a sense, the saviour of free people.”
During Zendaya, Chalamet and Villeneuve revealed an interesting fact: unlike the first film, of which only 40% was made using IMAX equipment, the sequel was shot entirely using this technology. Also in addition to Timothy and Zendai, the second part will return 8 actors from the original cast, joined by 5 new characters. That said, four of the audience’s favourite characters have left the cast for good.
