British gallery Castle Fine Art, where Johnny Depp regularly exhibits his works, has unveiled a new self-portrait of the actor, which he painted against the backdrop of the scandalous legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard. Apparently, this is not the only picture Depp has painted of himself: the series is called “Five” and, according to gallery representatives, includes five “deeply personal” self-portraits of the actor. The paintings will be available for private collection for only 13 days – until 1 August.
Note that painting is another passion of Johnny Depp along with music and cinema. And he feels more than confident in this field. For example, in March this year Depp sold portraits of Heath Ledger, Rivera Phoenix, Bob Marley and other stars for a fabulous amount of 4.5 million dollars.
The actor generally earns quite well on his art works. So, in September 2022, his debut collection of portraits of celebrities called “Friends And Heroes” (Al Pacino, Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Dylan and Keith Richards) went under the hammer for 3.65 million dollars.
The new “Five” collection is notable precisely because of the period in which the artist painted his self-portraits. The creator tried to capture the whole kaleidoscope of emotions that he experienced, figuring out the relationship with his ex-spouse in front of the whole world.
