Pop diva BeyoncĂ© celebrated her 42nd birthday with a huge concert for 70,000 people. The show was held in Los Angeles at the SoFi Stadium and was part of the Renaissance Tour, which will end in New Orleans on 27 September. Ahead of the event, Queen B urged fans to adhere to a special dress code and wear their best sparkly outfits – the star’s idea was to turn the venue into one giant live disco ball that night, and it looks like the idea worked!
The main surprise of the concert was the appearance on stage of the soul legend, 79-year-old ex-member of The Supremes Diana Ross, who sang her hit “Love Hangover”, as well as a festive rush for the birthday girl – the classic “Happy Birthday”, which was taken up by the whole hall. After such a massive and warm congratulations Beyonce was moved to tears.
“My soul is full. I’m so grateful that I try not to cry. I’m grateful to fate that I’m still alive. I am grateful to fate that I am on the stage. I’m so happy to see your faces,” she said. – I am grateful that I can provide a safe space for all of you. I am grateful for music, for the ability to heal myself through music, which then heals all of you. I am grateful for every tear, every year. I am grateful for my husband. I am grateful for all that we have been through. I am grateful for my beautiful father who is here tonight. I am thankful for my mother, my beautiful queen. I’m thankful that we all have the opportunity to make lemonade out of our lemons,” the singer continued, using a play on words referencing her 2016 record “Lemonade”. – I’m thankful for all of you guys who have been with me since 1997. I thank you guys for being here in my damn 42nd year of life.”
Of course, the birthday girl’s concert could not miss her star friends. So, among the audience were spotted Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z, Adele, Zendaya and Tom Holland, actress Kate Hudson, Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet, who for the sake of the show for the first time appeared in public together after rumours of an affair, spouses Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kris Jenner, Kim and Khloe Kardashian with their children, lovers Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, comedian Chris Rock, who received a famous slap from Will Smith, Katy Perry, Normani, Lizzo, who has been caught up in a major harassment scandal, and other celebrities. The artiste’s daughter Blue Ivy has already traditionally performed with her in a dance troupe.
