Last night, Hollywood hosted the world’s premier film event, the 96th annual Oscar Awards, which brought together a whole host of A-list stars on the red carpet. This year’s awards show traditionally featured actors, producers, directors and musicians who wrote soundtracks for the nominated films. Among the invitees were Emma Stone, who won Best Actress for her role in “Les Miserables”; Cillian Murphy, who took home his first Oscar for his leading role; and Robert Downey Jr, who, thanks to his work in “Oppenheimer” with Murphy, won the award for Supporting Actor, Billy Eilish, whose song for “Barbie” “What Was I Made For” won Best Soundtrack, as well as Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Charlize Theron, Eva Longoria, Ariana Grande, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Cooper, Nicolas Cage and many others.
“Oppenheimer” by Christopher Nolan expectedly became the best film of the year, while Nolan himself took away the statuette for best director.
Ukraine has won the first Oscar in its history: director Mstislav Chernov’s “20 Days in Mariupol” won the Best Documentary Feature category.
