Reese Witherspoon will executive produce a new TV series centred on her character as a child. She will produce the film alongside Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilewski, and Marc Platt. The story is about Elle during her high school years, long before she became the country’s top lawyer in a pink suit. The prequel is about “the life experiences that transformed her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first ‘Legally Blonde’ film,” according to a press release. Witherspoon, who played the role of Elle Woods in the classic 2001 film, said she is very excited about the upcoming series.
“Fans will learn how a young Woods navigated the world as a teenager with her fierce personality and ingenuity that is unique to our beloved Elle. What could be better than this!” – The actress said. – “I am extremely grateful to the incredible teams at Prime Video and Hello Sunshine, as well as our wonderful screenwriter Laura Kittrell, for making my dream come true. Legally Blonde is back!”
Vernon Sanders, head of Amazon MGM Studios’ television division, called the Harvard Law School graduate Woods “one of the most quotable, iconic and beloved heroines ingrained in the fabric of Hollywood history.”
