Laura Dern has put her wardrobe in order for a good cause. She has put her clothes on the Vestiaire Collective platform and all proceeds from the sale are being donated to a family planning charity.
“Everyone deserves health care with no shame, stigma or judgement,” she wrote on social media to announce the sale.
Dern donated 10 luxury wardrobe items, including a gold ruffle maxi dress from The Vampire’s Wife, a double-breasted red Calvin Klein coat and a purple Oscar de la Renta leather dress. Most items have already sold out.
“Dern, a long-time supporter of conscious fashion and family planning, selected items from her wardrobe for this special sale, which she hopes will draw attention to reducing stigma around sexual and reproductive health, including abortion,” Vestiaire Collective said in a press release.
Recall that Dern was a proponent of conscious consumption even before it became mainstream. For example, between 1995 and 2020, the actress wore the same black dress with a Giorgio Armani neckline to four different events, including Vanity Fair’s Oscar after-party.
