Rumours that Rihanna is preparing a new full-length album have been circulating for a number of years, but now a “reputable music insider” has got in touch with the press to reveal that the long-awaited moment has finally and truly arrived. The informant, in dialogue with The Sun, stated that the singer’s ninth studio album has already been recorded and is awaiting release.
“Everyone jokes about how long it’s taken Rihanna to release her ninth album, but finally the wait is almost at an end,” the source said.
According to the insider, Rihanna has been writing tracks for the upcoming LP for several years in collaboration with musicians like Alesso and Diplo. And this time, the singer decided to move away from her traditional pop sound by experimenting with a variety of genres.
“She went from pop to reggae, hip-hop and everything in between. But because she wants it to sound fresh, and because of the stage of life she’s at, almost all of the original ideas have had to be scrapped.”
