Fans have been waiting for Cameron Diaz to appear on the big screens for a decade, and only now the actress has revealed why she took such a long break from her dizzying Hollywood career. Her last film was ‘Annie’, and now, eleven years later she will return in the tape with the symbolic title of ‘Back in business’.
‘I just felt I had to do something to change my life. And I just didn’t care about anything else,’ she admitted, speaking at the Fortune Summit, dedicated to powerful women in the entertainment industry.
And the decision to step away from her acting career was unwavering, as the star admits.
‘Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, nobody’s suggestion, nothing could have changed my decision to take care of myself and build the life I really wanted to have. The real question is, what are you really passionate about? It was important for me to start my own family.’
The actress has been married to musician Benji Madden of the band Good Charlotte since 2015, and together they are raising a daughter and son born in 2019 and 2024 respectively.
The novelisation of ‘Back in Business’ with Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx will be released in wide release in January next year.
