Cameron Diaz, who recently shone at the London premiere of the blockbuster ‘Back in Business’, became a guest on the Graham Norton show. And in a conversation with the host explained why she decided to act in films again.

’10 years I paid no attention to anything, did not accept any offers, and then I got this script and thought that maybe it’s time. Making films is a privilege, after all, and we’re all very lucky to do what we do. But if I was going to leave my family for 10 hours a day, I’d want to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment industry,’ she explained, alluding to her film set partner Jamie Foxx.

Diaz calls her return to the film industry a gift from above.

‘The fact that this door has reopened for me after ten years is amazing. I endlessly love the years I spent with my family, but then I thought, ‘If I miss this chance, I’ll be a complete fool. Maybe this is the start of something new.’ So now I’m here and I’m very grateful for it.’

Cameron added that her husband, musician Benji Madden, with whom the actress is raising two children – five-year-old daughter Reddix and son Cardinal, who is not yet a year old – also played a big part in her return to the big screen.

‘He told me, ‘You’ve supported us and built a family. Now it’s time for us to support you and let mummy up and do her thing.’

By the way, Madden dedicated an emotional post to his spouse in honour of the film’s premiere.

‘This is my queen. I celebrate this awesome woman – wife, mum, friend, partner, boss and lover. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on the 5th of January and it only gets better every year. It’s a special occasion. Never perfect, but always real, always reliable. Every day I rejoice that you are my best friend and will be there for me until I die. What a beautiful life. We are so happy to see you…back in action!…Congratulations, baby!’
