Dolly Parton, the country music legend and singer of the hit song ‘Jolene’, who almost never appears in public without bright make-up, informed her fans that she is launching her own cosmetics brand under the succinct name Dolly Beauty, and also presented the first product of the brand – lipsticks in three different shades for $20.

“I feel glamorous on the inside, so I want to look that way on the outside as well….. Something is coming,” she intrigued subscribers.

The announcement was accompanied by Parton’s new photo shoot, in which the 78-year-old Grammy winner also showed off eye shadow named after her biggest hit, ‘Jolene’. The Heaven’s Kiss eyeshadow and lipstick collection will be available on the brand’s website on 22 August.

“I like to name products after my songs,” Dolly explained in an interview with WWD.

Parton said she plans to expand the range with eye and facial care products over time.

“I’ve wanted to be beautiful my whole life, like most girls, especially country girls who dream of glamour. I started putting together my own make-up bag when I was a child and for years I’ve been known to wear make-up – usually too much,” the star joked.

Dolly Parton has already entered the beauty market in 2021 with her perfume line Scent From Above. Also following younger colleagues Beyoncé, Rihanna and Blake Lively, Parton is also thinking of launching a hair line.

“I’ve always wanted to create my own line of wigs. But I’ve always loved cosmetics, and when we were creating a fragrance, make-up was the next step.”
