Dysmorphophobia is a mental disorder in which a person focuses excessively on some minor flaw in their appearance and has difficulty accepting themselves. And if you think that it is not subject to world celebrities, whose appearance usually fully complies with generally accepted conventional standards, you are wrong. For example, the owner of a perfect torso, Luke Evans, is shy about posing nude in front of the camera, as he admitted in a recent interview with Us Weekly. Recalling one of his shoots, Luke said:

“I did take my shirt off, but it took me about three Long Island drinks and… a little bit of confidence. It was only then that I relaxed.”

Evans understands that the public want to see him as a brutal man, but in reality there is a ‘little boy’ living inside him suffering from ‘insecurity, lack of self-esteem and all that stuff’.

“There’s a little boy living inside me – we all have our little children, our little people inside us, and they are with us all our lives. I was bullied a lot as a little boy and I didn’t like the way I was and that feeling still haunts me now, however, as I have grown up I recognise it clearly and so I don’t let the insecurities consume me. My complexes don’t stop me from doing what I do.”

According to Luke, he used to be extremely critical of himself.

“I had to learn to be kinder to myself,” the actor added. – “I did have terrible anxiety about whether I was good enough physically, and that’s partly not a bad thing – it gives you an incentive to develop yourself.”
