Queen Máxima, 53, took part in the art project ‘At Home in The Hague’ organised by the Haags Verhaal community. Together with members of the organisation and guests of the event, she explored what makes different people feel at home. At the meeting, the participants illustrated what homeliness can look like by embroidering some symbol or phrase on a piece of fabric with red thread.
Maxima looked elegant in a purple ensemble consisting of trousers and a jumper, which she complemented with high-heeled shoes. It is quite cool in Holland, so for the street the Queen chose a beige double-breasted coat with a belt at the waist. She completed her look with a matching clutch handbag and spectacular green earrings.
Maxima joined the participants of the embroidery lesson to socialise more with the people of The Hague and discuss important social issues. At the end of the event, the royal hung her work in an improvised exhibition with the other participants. She embroidered the first letter of her name, ‘M’, on a piece of fabric.
