Salma Hayek has headlined the new issue of GQ magazine. In an interview, the 56-year-old Latin actress spoke about her Hollywood career and the challenges she has faced. For the photo shoot, stylists chose looks from Vivienne Westwood and Bottega Veneta.

In a dialogue with an interviewer, Hayek noted that directors and producers for a long time did not take her in comedy projects. Salma believes that because of her sexuality, she was hostage to the image of “seductive beauty”.

“All my life I wanted to do comedies, but I was not given. They literally said, “You’re sexy, so you’re not allowed to have a sense of humour”. Not only are you not allowed to be smart, but in the ’90s you weren’t allowed to be funny either.”

In 2010, Salma first acted in Adam Sandler’s comedy “Classmates”. At the time, the actress was already in her forties. Over the years Hayek career has repeatedly included in the list of the most beautiful women in the world. Now the star is happily married to billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault and glad that sexuality is no longer perceived as its main quality. Salma Hayek is confident in herself and believes that she is strong in any genre and has proved everything to everyone a long time ago.

“I have earned enough respect from really important people to feel that they see a lot more in me.”

Salma gave birth to a daughter, Valentina, with a French billionaire. Last year, the actress, along with her young heiress, shot for the cover of Mexican Vogue. They appeared in delicate neutral looks with highlighted eyelashes and a wet lip effect. For the photo shoot, both mother and daughter wore designer outfits, unusual for Valentina – in her everyday life, she prefers sportswear.
