Dubai Design District (d3), a global center for art, design and creativity, will push the creative and artistic boundaries this March with the second edition of Rethink Art. The innovative art program will feature art exhibitions and installations, live performances and events, and workshops for all art lovers. It will take place at d3 from Tuesday, March 8, through Sunday, March 13, 2022.

At the peak of the art scene in Dubai, the UAE and the entire region, Rethink Art will embody d3’s core mission of “Rethinking the Ordinary.” Always driven by the desire to bring together creative talents for experimentation, innovation, collaboration and challenge, the latest season will showcase promising local, regional and global names in the art world and further cement Dubai’s position as the creative capital of the world.

Among the many highlights of d3 Rethink Art will be the exhibition Icons of Crypto Art by The 721 (the721.io). This immersive exhibition will bring together over thirty pioneering artists in one show, highlighting some of the most monumental works in the history of the space.

As street art becomes a global phenomenon, Rethink Art will feature three artists painting in the streets in exciting Live Graffiti and activation shows, where even visitors can join them, spray paint, design and build on existing artwork.

Another highlight will be the 4th annual Authentic Marks & Glow International Miniature Prints Show, featuring international artists from around the world. Parallel to this exhibition will be a live Ink Your Print program that will give visitors the opportunity to explore and experience two hand-printing techniques known as Drypoint and Linoleum to create their own unique works.

The in-house d3 K Gallery will feature a group of 18 young talents from the UAE, including the exhibition Façade to Façade by photographer Hussein Al Muzavi and the exhibition Celebrating Middle Eastern Creativity presented by the Khawla Art and Culture Foundation. Alienz Crews will be another impressive exhibition showcasing a combination of visual and digital art. He will also host talks and live performances.

Stage d3 will feature a variety of live performances by regional talent throughout the week. Film lovers will also be able to enjoy an international short film festival, the Ajman Film Biennale “Urban Visions: Architecture and the Future of Cities,” a first-of-its-kind screening within d3.

Friends and families will be able to take part in expressive hands-on workshops from Meraki Studio on the design of phone cases, resin watches and liquid painting, as well as an open-air canvas painting session from ARTfem and other workshops.
