Paris haute couture week has always been and always will be the “cherry on the cake” of the fashion marathon. It is in the French capital that these days the brightest fashion shows and the noisiest parties take place, and brands compete with each other in the stardom of their front row.

Dior presented a ready-to-wear collection for spring-summer 2023 the night before. The House’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri was once again inspired by powerful women. This time he chose Catherine de Medici, queen of France from 1547 to 1559 and wife of Henry II, who had great influence on the kingdom at that time. The looks were just as dramatic: crinoline skirts, corsets, lace, elbow gloves and lots of floral prints were seen on the catwalk.

Natalie Portman, Rosamund Pike, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Shailene Woodley, Elle Macpherson, Romy Strayed, Iris Lowe and many others watched from the front row.
