As you know, 36-year-old Lindsay Lohan now has a quiet and rather private family life in Dubai, where the paparazzi, who hounded the star in the 2000s, are forbidden by law. The actress specifically returned to New York to shoot the cover of the glossy and talk about her personal life, as well as presenting her first Netflix project, the new romcom Falling in Love for Christmas, which will be released on November 10.
“I cook a lot. Mostly Italian food. Pasta. I often make an Arabian dish called machbus. It’s chicken with rice and vegetables. I make really good borscht. I also go to bed really early, about 9.30,” she says of her daily routine in the Arab Emirates.
It seems Lindsay shares her love of Italian food not only with her husband but also with her pal Al Pacino. She met the Hollywood legend in London in 2014 when she acted in the play Speed Plough, which was written by his friend David Mamet.
“In fact, I’ve asked him for advice on many things, especially work and just life, just because he’s a pleasure to talk to. I was recently at a restaurant in San Francisco with my husband and his family and he happened to be there as well. I went over to say hello. Talking to him on the phone, I wasn’t nervous, but this time it was the opposite.”
Lindsay stressed that in her normal life she tries to take care of herself and her health. It’s no secret that just a decade ago she was one of Hollywood’s biggest rebels.
“I like to run on a treadmill – it’s my favourite way to relax. And I meditate in the morning. Actually, I also meditate in the shower.”
She is definitely helped in this by her family and friends, as well as her husband, Arab financier Bader Shammas.
“Well, I have an amazing husband, a very calm man. And the best part is my family. And I feel I have a small group of good friends who are just great people. That’s the kind of support I really need: friends, family and loved ones.”
Lindsay also regularly indulges herself with nice gifts and collects vintage jewellery and accessories.
“Purses. Vintage clothing. And vintage jewellery too. If I see something, I’ll wait a little while and if I keep thinking about that thing a week, two weeks, three weeks later, then I’ll definitely go for it. So I’m actually very good at it. I used to be impulsive, but I’m different now.”
Recall that Lindsay secretly married Bader Shammas in July this year. The engagement was announced in the fall of 2021. Prior to that, the lovers had known each other for at least two years. For the first time they were spotted in common company at the Dubai Festival in 2020.
Lindsay Lohan’s career has been on the rise lately. In addition to her first Netflix film, she is the host of author podcast The Lohdown and reality dating show on Amazon Prime Lovestruck High, as well as the face of a Super Bowl ad campaign.
