The biggest winner of the Big Ticket Live Show in the United Arab Emirates was named Qatar Hussain, an Indian national who won Dh30m (US$8.1m), but organizers of the lottery were not able to contact him live to reveal the good news.

The Sharjah resident was not the only winner of the draw – Thomas Ollukkaran, another native of India, won a prize of AED 1 million. The next draw, to be held in Abu Dhabi on January 3, 2023, will be for the biggest jackpot in the contest’s history – AED 35 million.

Lottery tickets can be purchased for AED 500. The Big Ticket Live Show competition has been running since 1992, with an initial prize pool of AED 1 million.

In November, an Indian national named Sajesh N.S., who works at a hotel in Dubai, won the Big Ticket lottery with a total prize of AED 25 million. He bought the ticket together with 20 of his colleagues: the winners will share the prize among themselves.

At the end of October, a Kazakh national won the Free Millennium Millionaire promotion run by the Dubai Duty Free retail chain. Bulat Aknazarov bought the lucky series 404 ticket (number 2483) and became a millionaire, giving him a prize of US $1m.

In October 2021, Junaid Rana, 36, from Pakistan, who works as a driver in Dubai, became the first Mahzooz jackpot winner. He took home Dh50m (US$13.6m).

A truck driver from Ajman became a millionaire in May 2022 when he hit the AED12m jackpot in the Abu Dhabi Big Ticket lottery. Mujeeb Chirathodi bought the ticket for Dh500 along with a group of 10 friends from India and Bangladesh. The lucky winners each ended up taking home AED 1.2 million.

In December 2021, a 50-year-old Armenian citizen living in the United Arab Emirates also won the Duty Free Millionaire draw. Abram Melkonian, father of three, won one million dollars.
