Canadian singer Abel Tesfaye, best known as The Weeknd, has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. According to the organization’s website, he is the most popular artist in the world. The artist was the first to hit the 100 million monthly listeners mark on Spotify. His record was 111.4 million per month.

His song titled Blinding Lights, released in 2020, has been listened to by 3.4 billion people. The artist is also known to have been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2016 for the most popular album on Spotify, as well as the most consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for a male solo artist.

In early March, it was revealed that The Weeknd had repeated Michael Jackson’s record for most hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to the publication, both artists have seven tracks that have reached the top of the chart. There are only two stars in the world with such a record.
