At the helm of Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri has established meaningful relationships with many creative personalities, from the internationally renowned artists who transform the scenography of the shows to the artisans involved in the creation of the collections. For the Dior Fall 2023 collection, the creative director continues her long-standing collaboration with the Chanakya School of Crafts, combining the skills of Indian artisans with those of the House, presenting the collection at India Gateway in Mumbai.

Chanakya School of Crafts is an institution in Mumbai, India that promotes the talents of women artisans. Maria Grazia Chiuri established a relationship with Karishma Swali, the school’s director, and combined their influences for the autumn offerings. Archival Dior designs by then artistic director Marc Bohan are paired with silhouettes inspired by saris adorned with technical embroidery. Elsewhere, flowing silks lend a carefree lightness, while the updated toile de Jouy fabric carries the Dior tradition into the new season.
