Warner Bros. Studios has announced a release date for the sequel to the cult film “Beetlejuice” directed by Tim Burton. The tape will premiere on May 6, 2024 – 36 years after the original in cinemas. Information about the plot has not yet been revealed. However, it is known that the film will star Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega.

Keaton will return to the role of Beetlejuice, while Winona Ryder will play a matured Lydia Deetz from the first part. Ortega will appear as her daughter. Also listed in the cast list is Justin Theroux. Who exactly he will play is not reported. Catherine O’Hara has also signed on to return to her role as Delia Dietz. Wednesday series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are working on the script for the project.

The plot of the first part revolves around married couple Adam and Barbara Maitland. The couple are killed in a car accident. After they die, they live peacefully in their home. However, the family’s idyll is thwarted by the new owners of the mansion. The mansion has been acquired by the businessman Charles Dietz. The businessman moves into the new house with his wife Delia and daughter Lydia. Adam and Barbara don’t like the new owners, so they turn to Beetlejuice. He promises to get rid of the Deetzes on condition that he is released. To do so, the Beatlejuice’s name has to be uttered three times. The film proved to be a hit and grossed around $75 million at the box office. Work on a sequel had been planned since the 1990s. Burton reportedly wanted to move the action to Hawaii.
