Johnny Depp doesn’t want to return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise due to Disney not backing him amid his legal battle with Amber Heard. Insiders claim the actor was furious as the studio refused to cooperate with him. Depp only managed to return to showbiz this year: his first film in years, Jeanne Dubarry, premiered at Cannes.

“They dumped him without any evidence of guilt, even though Amber lied,” says an insider.

It is rumoured that the actor’s fee if he returns to Pirates of the Caribbean could be $20 million. Representatives of the film studio also did not comment on the possible appearance of Depp in the franchise, although they have not ruled out the production of new parts of the “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

The publication notes that Johnny also will not appear in any projects directed by Tim Burton, in which he previously always starred. After the scandal with Heard, Burton also did not support the actor. Johnny Depp himself previously commented on his “cancellation”.

“When you’re asked to cancel a movie you’re working on because of something that’s just a bunch of vowels and consonants floating around…,” he said without finishing the sentence.
