Singer Dua Lipa took part in a photo shoot for the new issue of the French version of Vogue magazine. The singer posed for photographer Mert Alas. The star also gave a new interview, in which she spoke frankly about the scandal around Lizzo. Recall, several dancers accused the singer of bullying and sexual harassment. Fans also began to criticise Dua Lipa. They recalled that in 2020 she spent the evening together with Lizzo in a strip club after the Grammy Awards. Now, amid the proceedings, she has been accused of supporting the exploitation of women.
“I’m against any kind of exploitation. But I see women’s choices being criticised all the time. It’s like walking through a minefield. We feel ashamed of anything and everything. Does anyone think about people’s own experiences before attacking them? So it’s very important for me to respect women’s choices, whatever they may be,” the pop diva stated.
Dua Lipa believes despite the emergence of the #MeToo movement, which fights against violence against women, they are still very vulnerable in many situations.
“#MeToo or not, it’s still scary to be a woman and walk alone at night down an empty street on your way home. I have so many memories of those instances where you hold your keys at the ready, or take your bag, or pretend to be on the phone… I don’t know if that will ever change,” she said.
The singer believes it stretches back through the ages. Dua Lipa understands the tragic experience that girls have to go through.
“I feel a lot of solidarity with what women go through. I think a lot of people realise that all this domination has been around for centuries. And realising that can make a difference. So the cause is moving in the right direction, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.”
In the spring of this year, it was reported that Dua Lipa has a new romance. The singer is in a romantic relationship with French film director Romain Gavras. The lovers first appeared together at the Saint Laurent show, and then debuted as a couple at the Cannes Film Festival.
