Christianborg Palace in Copenhagen hosted a birthday celebration for the 18th birthday of the eldest son of Crown Prince Frederik Christian of Denmark. The young man is a future king and one of the most enviable grooms. The celebration was attended by noble guests from all over Europe. They included 11-year-old Princess Estelle of Sweden, 19-year-old Princess Katharina-Amalia of the Netherlands, 21-year-old Princess Elisabeth of Belgium and 19-year-old Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway.

During the celebration, Christian stepped out on the balcony in front of the assembled guests with his parents and grandmother, Queen Margrethe. A gala dinner was then held at the palace with all the gathered guests. Afterwards, Margrethe presented her grandson with a surprise. Right in the palace, Danish rock star Benjamin Have performed with his band The Family.

Prince Christian’s uncle, Prince Joachim, who appeared with his family, was also spotted at the birthday party. He came to the celebration despite the scandal that had previously occurred in the Danish royal family. The fact is that Margrethe deprived Joachim’s four children of royal titles.

There was also a fairy tale story in the palace. After cleaning, a forgotten shoe was spotted.

‘When the guests of Her Majesty The Queen’s festive reception yesterday went home, this lone stiletto shoe was left behind at Christiansborg Castle,’ the palace wrote on social media.

Christian recently fuelled engagement rumours. His beloved became the Sicilian princess Maria Chiara di Bourbon. The prince has already managed to introduce his chosen one to his grandmother.
