Kate Winslet loves playing with her children on screen. In an interview with Porter Magazine, she talked about how her career and family life have started to intersect since her older children – son Joe, 21, and daughter Mia, 23 – chose the acting path. In 2021, the kids, along with their mum, starred in the fully improvised TV series I Am Ruth.

“Fortunately, they’re good,” Winslet shared about her filming experience. – “It was comfortable interacting with them on set. These are the kids who have been testing me on my lines since they learnt to read. They’ve seen me terrified beforehand. They went through it with me.”

In 2017, the actress admitted in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that she doesn’t have a chef, driver or other assistants because she preferred to do many of the family chores herself.

“I would be very unhappy if I had these things done for me and I wouldn’t feel like a real person anymore,” she said. – “It just wouldn’t be right for my family – I know my kids would hate it. I want them to look back and remember my chicken soup, my packed lunches and the fact that I was the one who ran after them to school.”

In a fresh interview with Porter Magazine, where the actress was the cover star, she also touched on the fame that descended on her after the film Titanic in 1997. The film directed by James Cameron was a box office hit and made Winslet and her film partner Leonardo DiCaprio megastars. However, she was unprepared for the increased attention she faced after the film’s release.

“I felt I had to look a certain way or be a certain person, and because the media interference was so significant at the time, my life was quite uncomfortable,” Kate candidly told Porter Magazine.
