Billie Eilish and her older brother Finneas, who produces her music, officially announced that the new record “Hit Me Hard and Soft” will be released on 17 May. The artist immediately declassified that there are no singles to look forward to, she plans to showcase the entire musical work at once.

“So crazy to say this right now, I’m nervous and excited,” the pop star wrote on Monday, 8 April.

Fans, of which Billie has 262 million on her blog, were stunned by the news. The artist admitted that she is really looking forward to the release of this record.

“I want to show you all of it at once. Finneas and I are truly proud of this album and can’t wait for you to hear it. Love you, love you, love you!” – Ailish emotionally ended the post.

The 26-year-old artiste’s brother added that he is excited to continue writing music with his sister.

“I love this album so much, I’m so grateful I was able to make it with Billie, so happy it will be yours soon.”

Billie and Finneas’ posts have been liked by many stars, including actor Aaron Paul, socialite Paris Hilton and artiste Rebecca Black. Already, Ailish has revealed the cover and published the accompanying 18-second video teaser, which were shot by underwater photographer William Drumm. Billie has also released a line of new merchandise including T-shirts, hoodies, a T-shirt, a poster, lanyards and a necklace. The pop singer’s new LP promises to “hit hard and soft both lyrically and sonically” and will have her “travelling across a vast and expansive soundscape, immersing listeners in a full range of emotions”. Such a message is also reflected in the album’s title, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Last week Billie posted a picture of her “Hard & Soft” tattoo on her thigh, which appeared to be dedicated to the new album.
