The world of fashion has suffered another great loss – the famous Italian designer Roberto Cavalli has passed away. The sad news was confirmed by representatives of his eponymous brand, having made an official statement in social networks:

“It is with great sadness that today we say goodbye to our founder Roberto Cavalli. From humble beginnings in Florence, Roberto managed to become a globally recognised name, loved and respected by all. Talented and creative, Roberto believed that everyone can discover and nurture the artist in them. Roberto Cavalli’s legacy will live on through his creativity, his love of nature and his family, which he held very dear.”

Cavalli was known for his love of bright colours, animal prints and jewelled outfits. His creations included candid designs, embellishments, exotic motifs and all sorts of bold accents that made the Cavalli brand instantly recognisable and loved by many celebrities. Models from his collections worn by Zendaya, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora, Spice Girls and others. Today in social networks stars pay tribute to the memory of the couturier, publishing in social networks frames of memorable meetings with Cavalli.

After himself, the 83-year-old Italian designer left not only a significant contribution to the fashion industry, but also a decent fortune, which is estimated at $ 500 million. It will be shared by six heirs of the couturier, who were born from three different wives. Silvanella Giannoni, whom Roberto married in 1964 and divorced 10 years later, gave him a son Tommaso and a daughter Cristina. In 1980 Cavalli married again – he lived for 30 years with Miss Universe judge Maria Düringer, who later became the creative director of the Cavalli brand. During this time the couple had three children – Robert, Rachel and Daniele. For the last 10 years Roberto has been dating 38-year-old model Sandra Nilsson-Bergman. The difference of 45 years did not prevent them from becoming parents of baby Giorgio. He is now just over a year old.
