The royal family showed the other day that they are in high spirits as Camilla and Charles III hosted a social gathering at the palace, bringing together a number of notable faces and British celebrities. The First Lady wore a beautiful white dress and a hat to match, while her husband looked elegant in a classic grey suit and a pale pink waistcoat, which he complemented with a black cylinder. The event took place on one of the lawns of the royal residence, where guests dressed in their smartest suits and joined the king and queen.

The garden party, held for the first time this year, celebrates the UK’s thriving creative arts industry. Around 4,000 guests were invited. The Queen spent some time chatting to award-winning choreographer Dame Arlene Phillips, who used to be a judge on Dancing with the Stars, one of the royal family’s favourite TV shows. Actor and comedian Sir Lenny Henry was beaming as he shook Camilla’s hand at the event.

The party aims to showcase how the cultural industries are boosting the British economy and showcase the UK’s cultural values to the world. Love Island star Maya Jama looked gorgeous in a stunning blue dress with open shoulders at the Buckingham Palace event. The King was also photographed strolling around the grounds of the residence during the party, which was held outside in the bright sunshine. The King looked cheerful as he greeted invited guests, raising his cylinder before descending the steps into the Buckingham Palace garden. The event came a day after the monarch unveiled his new portrait by artist Jonathan Yeo, which sparked heated debate among royal fans.
