The other day a close friend of Kate Middleton told that the most difficult stage of her treatment is behind her. And today, her words are confirmed by palace insiders – Kate is even planning to finally return to her royal duties in the near future.

According to the Daily Mail, Catherine, who is a colonel in the Irish Guards, will miss this year’s military review – it will be hosted by General James Bucknall on behalf of the princess. But on June 14, in all likelihood, she will still make a public appearance – from the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Trooping the Colour parade

“Catherine is considering stepping out onto the famous balcony in a fortnight’s time. But this will happen on the condition that she feels well enough,” the publication quoted its source as saying.

The last official appearance of Kate Middleton in public was last Christmas. Then she travelled with members of the British royal family to Sandringham for a service at St Mary Magdalene Church. In January, the princess underwent major abdominal surgery. Two months later, Catherine issued an official statement saying that post-operative tests revealed cancer and that her medical team had advised her to undergo preventative chemotherapy. She began treatment at the end of February.

“We hope you can understand that we, as a family, need some time, space and privacy right now while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to returning when I can, but right now I need to focus on a full recovery,” Catherine said in a personal video message released in March.
