Dubai’s rapidly evolving cultural scene has welcomed a new project that brings together creativity, community, and support for women. BWC Balance Women Club, founded by Aigul Chukeeva and Galiya Hami, supports the development of Poetfest.Dubai—a charitable project created by Nadezhda Kashafutdinova, which unites poets, musicians, and artists on one stage for a unique celebration of the arts.
Originally established in St. Petersburg, Russia, Poetfest has been a significant part of the country’s cultural landscape for over a decade. Now, this widely cherished project has found another home in Dubai, with the goal of connecting people through the universal language of creativity. This initiative aligns with the mission of BWC Balance Women Club, which supports women in discovering and developing their creative talents, recognizing art as a powerful tool for both personal and professional growth.
On February 13, Poetfest.Dubai, in collaboration with BWC, held its second event, featuring poets, musicians, and singers who captivated the audience with their performances. The event fostered a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, encouraging even first-time performers to take the stage. The warm reception from attendees highlighted the growing demand for platforms that celebrate artistic expression and facilitate meaningful connections within the creative community.
The event was attended by Oleg Fomin, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, who emphasized the cultural significance of the project: “Events like these are essential for Dubai. They bring people together and enrich the city’s cultural landscape.”
Also present was Elena Tarilova, Chairwoman of the Association of Russian Compatriots in the UAE, who stressed the importance of such initiatives in uniting Dubai’s Russian-speaking expatriate community.
