According to insider reports, The Rolling Stones are covertly working on their next studio album in London. Band members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood are said to be deep in the recording process at Metropolis Studios in West London, crafting 13 new songs.
Insiders, speaking to The Sun, revealed that the iconic group already has the 13 tracks in a state they are happy with. However, discussions are reportedly ongoing about selecting the optimal release date for the highly anticipated record. This upcoming album will mark the 25th studio release in the legendary band’s extensive discography.
The band is working with their current drummer, Steve Jordan, on the project. Adding further star power to the sessions, The Sun also reports that the Stones have enlisted acclaimed producer Andrew Watt for the album.
This new project follows their last studio album, “Hackney Diamonds,” released two years ago in 2023. That album was significant as it was the band’s first full album of original material in 18 years.
True to tradition, the release of the new album is expected to be accompanied by a major global tour. Initial plans reportedly included a large-scale tour across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe this summer. However, sources indicate that promoters are currently facing difficulties in finalizing the dates for these live shows. The band has remained tight-lipped about both the album and the tour plans so far.
