Meghan Markle made a stunning and unexpected debut at Paris Fashion Week on Saturday evening, causing a stir among guests gathered for the Balenciaga show. The Duchess of Sussex made a last-minute entrance, arriving just as the event was about to begin, accompanied by her personal security.
For the highly anticipated debut collection of new creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, Markle wore a custom-designed ensemble. Her look was a masterclass in minimalist elegance: a silk white shirt, matching trousers, and an elegant coat draped over her shoulders. She accessorized with classic contrasting pieces – sharp black pointed-toe shoes and a black clutch. To complete the refined aesthetic, she wore her hair in an impeccable bun and opted for simple, understated makeup.

Following the show, Markle attended the brand’s afterparty, revealing a second custom creation by Piccioli. This outfit was a sophisticated black midi dress featuring a cape-like detail over one shoulder and a deep, asymmetrical backless cut. She paired this dramatic gown with the same black pointed-toe heels and accessorized with gold bracelets and diamond stud earrings. Markle has a history with the designer, having worn his creations during his tenure at Valentino.

The fashion-focused weekend precedes another significant public engagement for the Duchess. In a few days, Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, will travel to New York to receive the “Humanitarians of the Year” award from the Healthy Minds project. The gala, honouring their efforts to create a safer online space for families and youth, will take place on October 9th. The following day, their Archewell Foundation will participate in the fourth annual World Mental Health Day festival in Montecito, further highlighting their ongoing commitment to mental health advocacy.
