When Alexander Lozben, founder of INTERHASH, says, “Dubai today is not a geography — it is a platform,” he is speaking from the perspective of someone who has helped build the foundations of modern digital infrastructure. This vision was recognised at the Entrepreneur Middle East Leadership Awards 2025, held at W Dubai – The Palm, where Lozben was named Fintech Leader of the Year.

Lozben is an IT entrepreneur and fintech expert, known as one of the early architects of crypto infrastructure in Europe and the CIS. Today, based in Dubai, he works across sustainable mining, Web3, blockchain analytics, AI+Blockchain solutions, robotics and digital identity, with projects spanning MENA, Europe and Central Asia.

His company, INTERHASH, provides a full spectrum of mining services and builds next-generation digital infrastructure. Under his leadership, INTERHASH has become one of the global leaders in mining services. At the peak of the cryptocurrency market, more than 50% of all Bitcoin mined in the Russian Federation came from INTERHASH clients, and its total connected capacity contributes up to 7% of the entire Bitcoin network. The company’s long-term strategy centres on international expansion, energy optimisation, process automation, transparency and analytics.

Lozben’s impact, however, goes beyond operational metrics. He actively collaborates with digital tech parks and government entities in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia, helping to shape regulatory approaches to digital assets, sustainable mining policies, Web3-driven governance models and fintech platforms. This combination of infrastructure work and policy engagement is part of what made him stand out to the awards committee.

According to the organisers, the Fintech Leader of the Year category is dedicated to individuals who influence the future of financial technologies through infrastructure development, technological progress and strategic leadership. Lozben’s work brings these elements together by integrating energy efficiency, automation and data-driven solutions into blockchain and mining projects, while simultaneously participating in global industry forums that raise the region’s profile.

He views the current moment as a turning point:

“The world is changing faster than ever. It’s not enough to keep up — you must stay one step ahead.”

In practice, that means treating fintech and digital infrastructure not as isolated products, but as parts of a broader ecosystem. From mining capacity and analytics to regulation and digital identity, Lozben’s projects are aligned with a future where Web3, AI and fintech become structural elements of the economy in MENA and beyond.

By awarding him Fintech Leader of the Year, Entrepreneur Middle East recognises not only his achievements to date, but also the vision driving his work — a vision in which Dubai functions as a global platform and digital infrastructure becomes a core enabler of economic development.
