Zendaya has once again turned a major movie premiere into a fashion moment. For the Los Angeles premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the actress stepped onto the red carpet in a dramatic creation by Saudi couture house Ashi Studio, continuing a growing fashion relationship with designer Mohammed Ashi.
Held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the premiere brought Zendaya together with co-stars Tom Holland and Sadie Sink ahead of the film’s international release. But beyond the excitement surrounding the latest chapter of the Spider-Man franchise, Zendaya’s couture look became one of the evening’s defining visual moments.
The actress selected Look 18 from Ashi Studio’s Fall/Winter 2026 couture collection, “A Different Skin.” The black satin corset featured sculptural antenna-like details, while dramatic pleating extended behind her into an architectural train. The silhouette combined the theatricality of couture with the darker, almost otherworldly aesthetic of the collection. Zendaya completed the look with jewellery by French luxury house Boucheron.
Zendaya and Ashi Studio
The Los Angeles appearance was not an isolated fashion moment. It marked Zendaya’s second Ashi Studio look within a week, suggesting an increasingly visible connection between the Hollywood star and the Saudi-founded couture label.
At a Spider-Man: Brand New Day fan event in Mexico City, Zendaya previously appeared in a floor-length black gown from Ashi Studio’s Spring/Summer 2026 couture collection, “The Beginnings.” The design featured web-like knit detailing, glass tassels and beaded fringe — an elegant visual reference that felt particularly fitting for the Spider-Manuniverse.
The two appearances also demonstrate Zendaya’s signature approach to promotional dressing. Rather than treating red-carpet fashion separately from the films she promotes, she and her styling team frequently use clothing to extend a project’s visual language beyond the screen.
Saudi couture on the global stage
For Ashi Studio, Zendaya’s latest appearances represent another major moment of international visibility.
Founded by Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi, the house has established itself within the global couture landscape through dramatic silhouettes, architectural construction and a highly theatrical approach to design.
The “A Different Skin” collection, presented in Paris in July, drew inspiration from historic masquerade balls. Ashi imagined the models as characters moving across different centuries, using the idea of the mask and transformation as the foundation of the collection.
That concept found a natural ambassador in Zendaya, whose red-carpet identity has long been built around transformation. From futuristic silhouettes to archival couture and character-inspired dressing, the actress consistently treats fashion as part of storytelling rather than simply an accessory to celebrity.
Her decision to wear Ashi Studio twice during the same promotional cycle also highlights the increasingly prominent place of Middle Eastern designers within global entertainment and luxury fashion.
As Hollywood’s biggest premieres become international fashion platforms, designers from the region are no longer appearing only occasionally on major red carpets. They are increasingly becoming part of the visual language of global celebrity culture.
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day set for release in Saudi Arabia on July 30, Zendaya’s Ashi Studio moment creates a particularly fitting connection between Hollywood, Saudi creativity and contemporary couture.
For Zendaya, it is another memorable chapter in a red-carpet career defined by fashion storytelling. For Ashi Studio, it is another sign that Saudi couture has firmly entered the global spotlight.
