Salma Hayek has entered a new and deeply personal chapter of her life: the actress is officially a grandmother.

The 59-year-old star revealed the news on social media, sharing the first photos and video with her newborn grandson, François, whom she affectionately calls Panchito.

The baby is the first child of Hayek’s stepson François Pinault Jr. and his wife, Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck, making him the newest member of the Pinault family.

Salma Hayek introduces her grandson

Hayek celebrated the family milestone with a touching Instagram post showing her holding the newborn close to her chest.

In the video, the actress can be seen speaking softly to Panchito in Spanish as she cradles him in her arms.

The moment offered fans a rare glimpse into Hayek’s private family life and showed just how excited she is about becoming a grandmother for the first time.

She expressed her love for the baby and celebrated the arrival of a new generation in the family.

Meet baby François

The newborn was named François, continuing a family name that already spans several generations.

Hayek affectionately refers to him as Panchito, a Spanish nickname traditionally used for Francisco or François.

The baby is the son of François Pinault Jr., one of the children of Hayek’s husband, French businessman François-Henri Pinault, from a previous relationship.

For Hayek, the arrival of Panchito also represents another milestone for the blended family she has helped build over nearly two decades.

A close blended family

Hayek married François-Henri Pinault in 2009, and together they share daughter Valentina Paloma Pinault, who is now 18.

Through her marriage, the actress also became a stepmother to Pinault’s three older children: François, Mathilde and Augustin.

Over the years, Hayek has spoken warmly about becoming part of a large blended family.

The actress has previously explained that she always dreamed of having several children. Although she gave birth to one daughter, becoming a stepmother allowed her to experience the large family she had imagined.

Her relationships with her stepchildren have remained an important part of her family life, with Hayek occasionally sharing photographs and celebrating their milestones publicly.

A new role for Salma Hayek

Becoming a grandmother adds another role to a life already spanning Hollywood, fashion, philanthropy and family.

Despite maintaining an international career, Hayek has consistently spoken about the importance of motherhood and the relationship she shares with Valentina.

She has also reflected on balancing work with raising a family, believing that her career has helped show her daughter that motherhood and professional ambition do not have to exist separately.

Now, with the arrival of François, Hayek gets to experience family life from an entirely new perspective.

Four generations of the Pinault family

The arrival of Panchito also represents the continuation of another generation within the Pinault family.

For Hayek, however, the announcement was noticeably less about status or family legacy and much more about the emotional experience of meeting her grandson.

The intimate photographs and video capture the actress away from premieres, fashion shows and film sets, simply enjoying one of the biggest milestones in her family’s life.

At 59, Salma Hayek is beginning a new chapter — and judging by her first moments with Panchito, it is already one she is embracing wholeheartedly.
