Miley Cyrus is officially entering a new musical era.

The singer has announced her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, which will be released on September 18, alongside two rare live shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this October.

The announcement follows several days of cryptic teasers that hinted Cyrus was preparing something new after the release of Something Beautiful in 2025.

A more vulnerable chapter

For Bass Persuades, Cyrus is leaning into a more emotional and personal direction.

She described the album as powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong, explaining that its title reflects the way music can move through every part of life — from love and joy to heartbreak and everything in between.

The album artwork continues that mood.

Shot in black and white, the cover shows Cyrus from the shoulders up with a rose held between her lips, creating a stripped-back visual identity compared with some of the more elaborate aesthetics of her previous eras.

She also shared a teaser video featuring herself playing electric guitar in a white jumpsuit against a heavier, more aggressive instrumental.

The album arrives September 18

Bass Persuades follows Cyrus’ 2025 album Something Beautiful, which reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

Before that came 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation, the album that produced one of the biggest songs of her career, “Flowers.”

The single spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and later won major Grammy recognition.

Her new record will continue a period in which Cyrus has increasingly shifted towards music that feels more reflective and closely connected to where she is personally.

Miley returns to the stage

Alongside the album, Cyrus also announced two shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 16 and 18.

The performances are particularly notable because Cyrus has largely avoided major touring in recent years.

She described the Hollywood Bowl as one of her favourite places to experience live music and said that, despite attending performances there many times, she has never previously performed on the venue’s stage.

The shows will therefore become an important part of the Bass Persuades era rather than simply another tour stop.

Tickets go on sale in September

An American Express presale for the Hollywood Bowl dates will begin on September 8 at 10am PT.

Artist and Spotify presales will follow, with remaining tickets becoming generally available on September 10.

Given how rarely Cyrus has performed large-scale concerts in recent years, the two dates are likely to become some of the most in-demand shows connected to the new album.

A campaign built around reinvention

The rollout for Bass Persuades began before the official announcement.

Red-and-black billboards appeared teasing that something was “coming soon,” while Cyrus also changed her social media identity, shortening her handle to simply @miley.

That detail immediately sparked speculation that the singer could be moving towards a more minimal, direct identity for her next chapter.

The timing also arrived during an emotional period for Cyrus following the death of her godmother, Dolly Parton, whose influence on her life and career has been significant.

A new Miley era begins

For more than two decades, Cyrus has repeatedly reinvented herself across pop, rock, country and experimental projects.

Bass Persuades now appears ready to continue that evolution with a more intimate tone, a stripped-back visual language and a rare return to large-scale live performance.

With the album arriving September 18 and two Hollywood Bowl dates following in October, Miley Cyrus is preparing to make the next chapter feel less like a conventional release cycle and more like a carefully defined new era.
