Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are known for keeping their personal lives private, but the actress recently made an exception to publicly praise her husband for a significant milestone in Hollywood. Gosling, who stars alongside Emily Blunt in the new film The Fall Guy, has successfully advocated for stunt performers to receive long-overdue recognition at the Oscars. Thanks in part to his efforts, the Academy Awards will now introduce a new category honoring stunts.
Mendes couldn’t resist sharing her pride on social media, posting a heartfelt tribute to Gosling alongside a series of photos from the film’s press tour.
“My man is the best of the best! Unfortunately, success is almost always measured by box office numbers, so I’m especially proud of my man for turning his entire Fall Guy press tour into a campaign to get stunt performers Oscars. And now, after almost 100 years of the Academy not recognizing them, it’s officially a category!! This is HUGE! An achievement that will last forever. Congratulations to the incredible stunt community!!” she wrote.

Among the photos was one of Gosling posing with co-star Emily Blunt, prompting Mendes to jokingly add that it was the “first and last time” she’d post a picture of her husband with such a “beauty.”
Mendes and Gosling have been together since meeting on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011. They now share two daughters: 10-year-old Esmeralda and 8-year-old Amada. In 2014, Mendes stepped back from acting to focus on raising their children, calling it the easiest decision she ever made.
“I knew that during my kids’ early years, everything I did—or didn’t do—would affect them for the rest of their lives. Careers come and go, but kids… yeah, it was an easy choice. These are the formative years, and I wanted to be there for all of it,” she once shared.
Gosling’s latest triumph not only highlights his dedication to the film industry but also shines a spotlight on the often-overlooked contributions of stunt performers. With Mendes’s loving support, it’s clear that behind this Hollywood power couple, there’s a strong partnership—both on and off the screen.
