At the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, the UAE’s presence is being felt far beyond cinema. This year, the red carpet has also become a platform for Dubai-based celebrities, creators, and entrepreneurs, many of whom arrived on the French Riviera not only in couture and diamonds, but at defining moments in their personal brands and careers.

Among the standout names is Nadine Nassib Njeim, the Lebanese actor and beauty entrepreneur behind Nadine Njeim Beauty, who appeared in Cannes in a dramatic black velvet gown paired with statement jewellery. On social media, she described the atmosphere as “magical” and thanked the teams behind her look, while continuing to reinforce the polished, fashion-led image that has made her one of the Arab world’s most visible public figures. Khaleej Times notes that beyond her television career, she has built a strong presence across beauty and fashion, alongside a major social media following.

Also drawing attention was Dubai-based digital creator Nidhi Kumar Malhotra, who marked the festival with a major milestone of her own. Ahead of Cannes, she shared that she would become the first dance creator to walk the Cannes red carpet alongside Brut India, framing the moment as the result of a decade of work building her identity and audience. In posts shared around the event, she reflected on ten years of content creation and community-building, describing the journey as something built through persistence rather than luck.

Another familiar face on the Riviera was Raya Abirached, the Lebanese television presenter known for Scoop with Raya and for interviewing some of Hollywood’s biggest names. She attended the opening ceremony in a shimmering white gown styled with Cartier jewellery, once again bringing her signature elegance to one of the most photographed stages in global entertainment. The longtime Cannes regular also marked the occasion around her birthday, sharing images from the festival’s opening night.

Reality personality and Dubai Bling star Farhana Bodi also joined the Cannes fashion conversation, stepping onto the red carpet in a crystal-covered turquoise gown by Atelier Zuhra. Her appearance added to the growing wave of UAE-linked personalities using Cannes not just as a film event, but as a space for fashion positioning, personal branding, and international visibility.

What makes this year’s Cannes moment especially interesting is how clearly it reflects a broader shift in influence. As Khaleej Times observes, the festival is increasingly functioning as more than a celebration of film alone. It is also becoming a stage for fashion, digital culture, and global brand presence — a space where regional figures from Dubai can translate local relevance into international visibility.

For WOW Magazine, that evolution feels especially aligned with Dubai itself. The city has become a launchpad for personalities who move fluidly between industries — entertainment, beauty, content, luxury, and entrepreneurship. At Cannes 2026, that blend was visible on every step of the carpet: not just stars attending an iconic event, but a new generation of UAE-based names showing that influence today is no longer defined by one field alone.

If there is one clear takeaway from this year’s red carpet, it is that Dubai is no longer simply watching global culture — it is actively helping shape its visual language. And on the Cannes stage, that presence looked confident, polished, and impossible to ignore.
