It seems that besides Johnny Depp there is another art connoisseur in Hollywood. However, if the first draws himself, the 36-year-old Robert Pattinson has shown himself as a future successful gallery owner. The day before it became known that he curated the forthcoming auction at Sotheby’s. The actor personally selected for the collection, which will later go under the hammer, six works – paintings and sculptures of different styles and eras – of famous and emerging masters. Pattinson appears to have a good understanding of painting and feels quite confident in the industry.
“Curating has been a really exciting process and an honour for me,” confessed Pattinson. “As an actor, I’ve always felt a certain synaesthesia between the different art forms. Acting has helped me understand this, and this interconnection has made the process of curating the auction an exciting and fun experience for me.”
It’s worth noting that before the auction takes place on 30 September, the art objects will be presented in an exhibition available to all.
