Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived for a working visit to the Hayes Muslim Centre in London. The meeting with volunteers was to raise funds for those affected by the recent devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. During the event, the Prince and Princess of Wales spoke with specialists from the crisis centre, who had recently returned from the disaster zone.
At the meeting, Kate appeared in a look befitting the venue. She put on an elegant Catherine Walker coat and a black pleated Alexander McQueen dress, which she wore in public six months ago at Elizabeth II’s wake in Sandringham, with a white stole with black embroidery by Elan, Pakistan, which she covered her head in as a tribute to Islamic culture. Kate paired her understated look with a compact Grace Han bag and suede ankle boots by her favourite shoe brand, Gianvito Rossi.
Remarkably, Kate and William took their shoes off inside the centre, in keeping with Muslim tradition. The Welsh made a large donation to victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria back in February.
