Over the past few years, star stylist Law Roach has been responsible for the looks of Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Celine Dion, Anya Taylor-Joy, Holzy and many other celebrities. His impeccable taste has made him famous the world over. Given Roach’s incredible influence and credibility in the industry, the news that he is about to leave the profession was quickly picked up by international publications. In his blog, the star stylist wrote:
“My cup is empty… Thank you to everyone who’s supported me on my career path over the years. All the people who have entrusted me with their images, I am so grateful. If this job was just about clothes, I’d be doing it all my life, but unfortunately it’s not! Politics, lies and phony subpoenas have finally reached me. You win. I’m out of the game.”
At the same time, Roach did not elaborate on what exactly influenced his decision. But internet users believe that the recent mishap at the Louis Vuitton show was not the least of it. At the time, Law had no front row seat, even though he arrived at the show with his ward, Zendaya. Celebrities do not want to believe that the stylist can leave the ranks of the professionals. Naomi Campbell, for example, has said she won’t let him give up the profession so easily.
“We don’t give up! Strive as hard as you can.”
For one of Zendai’s last appearances at the NAACP Image Awards (National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People Awards), Law created an old Hollywood-inspired look for the actress. The star appeared in a vintage Atelier Versace couture dress from 2002. The strapless outfit with a deep V-neckline and a playful thigh-length slit made all the difference.
