Bvlgari has updated one of its iconic collections, the Octo, which debuted in 2012. The Octo line features models with an octagonal case. The company dedicates this geometry to the architectural forms of Rome. In addition, the timepiece has details linked to Swiss watchmaking tradition: the dials of the self-winding model and the chronograph are adorned with the Clous de Paris motif.
The new automatic three-hand movement with date and chronograph are equipped with an easy-to-change bracelet system. All the novelties are water-resistant to 100 metres, supported by a crown integrated into the case with an additional protection unit. Among the models, the Bvlgari Octo Roma 2023 can be highlighted. It is equipped with the proprietary Bvlgari BVL 191 movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The watch is available in blue, anthracite and white dial versions. The hands, hour markers and Arabic numerals at ‘6’ and ’12’ are coated with Super-LumiNova, which improves visibility at night.
The Bvlgari Octo Roma Automatic watch can also be found in the collection. It was the first model in the collection to feature Bvlgari’s own calibre BVL 399. It runs at 28,800ppm and allows the wearer to appreciate its finish thanks to the transparent caseback. Like the crown, the two chronograph buttons are also recessed in the 42mm case.
In addition to everyday watches, the collection features more sophisticated models, four at once: the Octo Roma Tourbillon: Octo Roma Papillon Tourbillon and Octo Roma Striking Tourbillon Saphir in titanium 44mm cases, and the Octo Roma Precious Naturalia, created with the tiger eye, and the Tourbillon Lumière for women. Visible on the dial side, the mainplate of the BVL 206 movement powered by the Octo Roma Precious Naturalia is decorated in tiger-eye with brown and gold accents with subtle streaks of lighter hues.
