The 48th Chaplin Award Gala was held at New York’s Lincoln Center on April 24. Actress Viola Davis, who was awarded the prestigious EGOT (she holds all the major entertainment awards) in February this year, was the highlight of the evening as she received a statuette for her many contributions to the film industry. She was supported at the event by fellow actresses Meryl Streep and Jessica Chastain, with the former having once shared the set of ‘Doubt’ and the latter having starred together in ‘The Attendant’.
Viola chose a black dress with gold fringes by Jason Wu, Jessica wore a sequinned evening gown from last year’s Zuhair Murad couture collection and Meryl, on the other hand, chose a black pantsuit to accessorise with massive earrings and black-rimmed glasses. The actresses happily posed together, laughing and cuddling for the camera, creating the perfect trio that more than one Hollywood director is probably dreaming of.
