Recently The Rolling Stones announced their first full-length studio album in almost seven years, and on Wednesday, 6 September, they officially confirmed the release of the record entitled “Hackney Diamonds” on Jimmy Fallon’s live show. Moreover, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood revealed another intrigue – 37-year-old Lady Gaga was involved in the recording.
“Lady Gaga sings really sweetly on the new song ‘Sweet Sound of Heaven,'” said guitarist Ronnie Wood, withholding other details of the collaboration.
The composition “Sweet Sound of Heaven,” which fans of the band will only have to hear on 20 October along with the record’s release, is not Lady Gaga’s first collaboration with rock legends. In 2012, she joined The Rolling Stones on stage at one of the 50 & Counting tour concerts, performing a duet with Mick Jagger on “Gimme Shelter,” a song released by the Rolling Stones back in 1969.
For The Rolling Stones, “Hackney Diamonds” will be their 31st studio album. And the first to be recorded without drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away on 24 August 2021. He is now being replaced by bluesman Bill Wyman. It is known that in addition to Lady Gaga, The Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were also involved in the recording. The last, 30th album of the band “Blue and Lonesome” was released in 2016.
