There are places you visit simply to work out. And then there are spaces that gradually become part of your lifestyle. For me, Reload Sanctuary in Canggu, Bali, is definitely the latter.

While in Bali, I was specifically looking for a strong, modern gym — not simply a beautiful place designed for social media, but somewhere I could genuinely train every day, recover properly, eat great food, work between sessions, and be surrounded by an interesting international community.

That search led me to Reload Sanctuary. After my first visits, one thing became clear: this is much more than just a good fitness club.

I genuinely enjoyed the experience.

Reload perfectly represents the new Bali, where fitness, wellness, work, gastronomy, and social life no longer exist separately. That is why WOW Magazine includes Reload Sanctuary in our international Top Lifestyle & Wellness Destinations ranking.

First Impression: Much More Than a Gym

Reload describes its philosophy with four simple words:

Train. Recover. Fuel. Connect.

And that is exactly what the space delivers.

Reload combines a large professional gym, functional training areas, a rooftop workout space, group classes, recovery and wellness facilities, a swimming pool, Kitchen by Reload, relaxation areas, workspaces, and a strong community component.

Reload Sanctuary Official Website

For me, this complete ecosystem is one of Reload’s greatest strengths. You can arrive early in the morning for a workout and easily end up spending a significant part of your day here without needing to leave.

Multiple Levels, Different Training Experiences

The scale of Reload immediately stands out.

This is not a small boutique gym where beautiful interiors compensate for limited equipment. There is genuinely a lot of space.

The main indoor training level features an impressive selection of modern machines covering virtually every muscle group. There are dedicated strength and cardio areas, functional training spaces, and different formats for group training.

Then there is the open-air rooftop.

Training outdoors in Bali creates a completely different experience. The fresh air, tropical surroundings, and sense of space make rooftop sessions particularly enjoyable in the morning or around sunset.

Essentially, you can change your training environment depending on your mood and goals: have a complete strength session indoors one day, focus on functional training another day, and then take your workout upstairs into the open air.

Reload is also an Official HYROX Training Club, further emphasizing the serious performance side of the concept.

Equipment: A Place Built for Real Training

This is particularly important to me.

Bali has plenty of visually impressive wellness concepts today. But if you train consistently, good design alone is simply not enough.

Reload takes its equipment seriously.

The extensive selection of machines makes it possible to build a comprehensive workout for virtually every muscle group. And because the facility is spacious, it maintains a sense of freedom even when the club is active.

It works equally well for someone who simply wants to stay fit and for people who consider training a serious and permanent part of their lifestyle.

From a pure gym perspective, Reload is one of the strongest places I have personally experienced in Bali.

Architecture That Works With the Concept

Reload is also interesting from an architectural perspective.

The project was designed by Andra Matin, one of Indonesia’s renowned contemporary architects. The space was created to bring performance and design together through open training levels, a rooftop, natural light, and transitions between high-energy and quieter areas.

You can feel that throughout the property.

The architecture is not there simply to create beautiful photographs. It directly influences the experience.

You constantly move between different states: intense training, open space, recovery, swimming, dining, and working.

As a result, Reload feels more like a compact lifestyle complex than a traditional fitness club.

Recovery: The Workout Doesn’t End With the Last Rep

Another major strength is Reload’s approach to recovery.

I strongly believe in the modern philosophy of fitness where recovery is considered just as important to performance as training itself.

After your workout at Reload, you can move directly into its wellness and recovery facilities, including a sauna, steam room, cold plunge / ice baths, swimming pool, and relaxation spaces.

It completely changes the typical gym experience.

At a traditional gym, you finish your workout, shower, and leave. Here, you can slow down, recover properly, and give your body time to reset.

The entire experience becomes a cycle:

Train → Recover → Fuel → Work → Connect.

And in my opinion, this is exactly what separates the world’s best modern lifestyle clubs from ordinary gyms.

Coworking: The Workout Ends, the Working Day Continues

I particularly want to highlight Reload’s coworking area, because for me it is one of the most convenient elements of the entire concept.

There is a dedicated space where you can open your laptop and comfortably work between training sessions or after your workout.

And importantly, people actually use it.

You see people around you working on laptops, answering messages, taking calls, and managing their businesses and projects. In Bali — home to a huge international community of entrepreneurs, digital professionals, and remote workers — it feels completely natural.

I particularly like the lifestyle scenario this creates: arrive in the morning, train, recover, have breakfast, open your laptop and work for several hours — and later, if you want, return to the gym, pool, or recovery facilities.

You no longer have to choose between your workout and your working day.

This is where you really understand why Reload calls itself a Sanctuary, rather than simply a gym.

It is a place where you can structure a significant part of your entire day.

Kitchen by Reload: Worth Visiting Even Without a Workout

The food deserves its own mention.

At many fitness clubs, the restaurant remains an afterthought: a few protein-focused dishes, smoothies, and that’s about it.

Reload feels different.

Kitchen by Reload is an integral part of the overall experience. Its concept focuses on fresh ingredients, balanced nutrition, and nutrient-dense dishes — but for me, the most important thing is much simpler: the food is genuinely delicious.

And that matters.

Healthy food should never feel like a compromise between nutrition and enjoyment. Reload manages to make dining another reason to enjoy spending time here.

After training, you can have a proper breakfast or lunch, order a smoothie or another drink, and then move directly into the coworking area.

The restaurant becomes another reason to stay for several hours rather than leave immediately after your workout.

Pool and Lifestyle Spaces

Another advantage of Reload is the amount of space surrounding the actual training facilities.

Once you leave the workout floors, the lifestyle concept continues.

There is a swimming pool, relaxation areas, the restaurant, recovery facilities, social spaces, and areas where you can sit down and work.

Together, these elements create the feeling of a private lifestyle club.

You can easily spend half a day here without noticing how quickly the time passes.

The Crowd and Community

When evaluating lifestyle destinations, I pay attention not only to the infrastructure but also to the people.

You can build an expensive club, install the best equipment, and create a beautiful swimming pool. But without the right community, something will always be missing.

The crowd is one of Reload’s strengths.

You see active people, entrepreneurs, athletes, digital professionals, expats, and an international community for whom fitness is simply a natural part of everyday life.

Some people are training. Others are working on their laptops. Some meet over coffee, while others stay around the pool after their workouts.

Reload also develops its community through training sessions, runs, social gatherings, and wellness events.

The result is the right kind of energy: people do not come here simply to use the facilities. They come because they want to be part of a particular lifestyle.

Service and Atmosphere

Another positive aspect is the level of organization.

The staff is attentive, the facilities are well maintained, and all the different areas connect naturally.

At the same time, Reload never feels unnecessarily formal.

It provides a premium lifestyle environment while maintaining the relaxed atmosphere that makes Bali special.

You can train seriously and still feel comfortable. You can come here to work. You can meet friends. You can spend time by the pool or dedicate several hours to recovery.

That versatility is probably what I enjoyed most about Reload.

WOW Magazine Verdict

After spending time at Reload, one thing stayed with me: you want to come back for much more than just the workout.

And perhaps that is one of the best compliments you can give a project like this.

You can arrive in the morning, complete a serious workout, head up to the open-air rooftop, recover in the sauna or cold plunge, swim in the pool, enjoy a great breakfast or lunch, open your laptop in the coworking area, spend several productive hours working, meet people — and only leave in the evening.

In today’s world, that is a form of real luxury: being able to combine different parts of your life within one exceptionally well-designed environment.

Bali has become one of the world’s wellness capitals, which means competition here is extremely high. Today, installing expensive gym equipment, opening a healthy café, and building a beautiful pool is no longer enough.

You need to create an experience.

And that, in my opinion, is exactly what Reload Sanctuary has achieved.

Reload Sanctuary receives 9.9/10 from WOW Magazine and joins our international Top Lifestyle & Wellness Destinations ranking as one of Bali’s standout fitness and lifestyle destinations — and a place we strongly recommend to anyone who sees fitness, health, work, and quality of life as parts of one connected lifestyle.
